Raindrop featured by HWZ: From a simple idea to AI innovation

From a simple idea to AI innovation

We are thrilled to share a new feature about Raindrop. The Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration (HWZ) recently interviewed our CEO, Jasmin Flori-Hess.

The article explores the origin story of our insurance platform. It traces Jasmin’s journey from a corporate career in Switzerland to building Raindrop in Darwin. The piece highlights how our platform was born out of real frustration. Jasmin spent 15 hours trying to understand personal insurance policies. That experience combined with a pivotal HWZ workshop on Natural Language Processing (NLP) sparked the idea for Raindrop.

The interview also explores our core philosophy of human validated AI. Deep technical expertise requires critical scrutiny. We build our intelligence on feedback from real insurance professionals. This preparation is essential for the future of agentic commerce.

Key insights from the interview

“My secret? Not being afraid to ask ‘stupid’ questions. A healthy dose of curiosity is the absolute driving force behind any start-up. At the same time, my many years of experience in the corporate world gave me the confidence to question the status quo critically.”

“Genuine deep-tech expertise does not develop in a vacuum. The foundation of our intelligence is built on critical scrutiny and ongoing feedback from real insurance experts. Only in this way do we achieve results that are both professionally robust and trustworthy.”
